The Position: Prefabrication Technician & Welder

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Prefabrication Technician & Welder to join our client's high-performing team in Brisbane. Working closely with the Lead Prefabrication Technician, you'll be a crucial part of the entire prefabrication process.  This role requires a strong focus on precision pipe welding (Mig and Tig), combined with the ability to perform mechanical fitting tasks and adapt to varied responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The workday runs Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 2 PM.
  • Inspect incoming pipes and meticulously pick and pack component parts for assembly.
  • Fabricate and assemble products, ensuring all activities meet required technical drawings and specifications.
  • As a Certified Welder, perform precision Mig and Tig pipe welding according to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  • Be proficient in all cutting and grooving aspects of the job (training will be provided).
  • Operate material handling equipment and perform product packaging.


About You

You're a professional with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills who enjoys precision welding but is also open to learning and performing mechanical fitting tasks. A self-starter, you thrive in a small team environment and excel at building long-term, value-based relationships. If you're seeking a long-term opportunity and possess a keen eye for detail, you'll also bring the following:

  • Certificate III Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent qualifications
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant technical experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of welding experience and relevant qualifications, with proven proficiency in Mig and Tig pipe welding.
  • The ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings, as well as interpret technical manuals.
  • Previous experience with forklift operation (minimum 1 year, a valid forklift license is beneficial but not mandatory).
