Become a key player in crafting specialised equipment for diverse industries. Apply your Boilermaker expertise to help build essential components for a market-leading heavy machinery equipment company.

The Company

A market leader in the design and manufacturing of custom special-purpose equipment solutions for customers worldwide, with a strong presence in key sectors such as Rail, Construction, Engineering, and Defence.

The Position

As a Boilermaker within the Ground Support Equipment division, you will be responsible for the welding, cutting, and fabrication of ferrous and non-ferrous parts for machinery and hydraulic lifting equipment. This role demands expertise in working with thicker materials and higher-pressure applications, requiring specialised skills beyond general fabrication.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Studying complex drawings and specifications to determine suitable materials, methods, sequences of operations, and machine settings, with an understanding of pressure vessel codes where applicable.
  • Operating machinery and tools safely and efficiently to produce high-quality components and assemblies for demanding applications.
  • Performing specialised welding (MIG, TIG, and Stick) on thicker gauges and for higher-pressure requirements, potentially involving stress analysis considerations.

About You

We are seeking a candidate with a strong understanding of complex production processes and heavy equipment operations, coupled with meticulous attention to detail. The ideal applicant will be looking for a long-term opportunity and will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Certificate III Engineering (Heavy Fabrication Trade) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Expertise in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques, specifically with thicker materials and for higher-pressure applications.
  • Proven ability in stress analysis and understanding of pressure vessel codes (where relevant).
  • Versatile experience across heavy industry, with a focus on robust and critical components.
  • Current driver's license (must) and forklift license (ideal).
  • Capacity to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Physically fit and able to travel by car or air for onsite work.

Benefits

Joining our client's team means becoming part of a company that truly values its employees as their greatest strength and the key to their success. Your benefits will include:

  • Full-Time Permanent position.
  • A supportive working environment and management team, where you'll collaborate with the best in the industry.
  • Employment within a stable and secure Australian-owned business.
