Senior Control Systems Engineer 🛠️

Due to continued growth, we're seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Control Systems Engineer to join a leading engineering consultancy in their Brisbane office. This is an exciting opportunity to work on challenging and diverse projects across the Mining, Energy, Utilities, Renewables, and Industrial sectors. THE ROLE

As a Senior Control Systems Engineer, you'll be instrumental in the design, development, implementation, and commissioning of critical control systems. This is a hands-on role that requires both technical expertise and the ability to operate autonomously.

• Lead the programming and configuration of robust control logic, utilising software from both Rockwell Automation and Siemens. This includes working with Allen-Bradley PLCs, Plant SCADA, and various Siemens PLC and SCADA/HMI platforms.
• Design, develop, and implement complex SCADA systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry best practices.
• Participate in site commissioning and start-up activities, requiring regional travel to client sites.
• Provide high-level technical support, maintenance, and expert troubleshooting for existing and new automation and control systems in heavy industrial environments.
• Engage effectively with cross-functional project teams, clients, and stakeholders, using strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure project success.

ABOUT YOU

You will have a minimum of 7 years experience and a strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or an Electrical Trade background is required. You will be self-motivated, proactive and comfortable working automously in dynamic environments. You will also have:

• Proven experience in PLC programming in a heavy industrial setting.
• Demonstrable expertise with Rockwell Automation software (Allen-Bradley PLCs and Plant SCADA). Experience with Siemens PLC and SCADA platforms is also highly regarded.
• Strong capability in the full lifecycle of SCADA system development, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience delivering automation and control system projects within heavy industrial environments (e.g., mining, power generation, large-scale manufacturing).
• Have.
• Current RPEQ status is highly regarded, or you must demonstrate the ability to obtain RPEQ registration within the next 6 months.
