The Position:

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager with extensive experience in Data & Comms to play a key role in my client's continued growth. This Project Manager - Electrical/Data/Comms will be responsible for:

• Build and lead the Data & Comms department. Key priorities include team development, securing new business, and sourcing installation work through major existing clients
• Manage client sites from inception to close-out, ensuring value, margin targets, and client satisfaction are met
• Estimate projects (with assistance of estimators) and ensure bids are competitive and accurate
• Track project performance using SimPro (PM) and Pronto (accounting)
• Manage diverse projects ranging from $20k to $1.5m.
• Actively instruct field crews on technical aspects. Engage group companies for specialist comms work (fibre, splicing, etc.).
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, drive strategic revenue growth, and ensure contractual communication aligns with project needs.
• Oversee WIP/debtor management and monitor weekly project status for reports and labour forecasting.

About You:

You are a Project Manager with proven experience taking full ownership of projects from inception to completion, complemented by significant electrical engineering experience across diverse sectors. Seeking a long-term opportunity, you will also possess the following essential skills and attributes:

• Strong, hands-on understanding of the Data & Comms industry is essential, with the ability to "walk the walk" in the field.
• A-Grade Electrical License preferred and/or extensive hands-on experience, having likely come up "off the tools from an apprenticeship."
• Mandatory experience (2 years) in formal QA (Quality Assurance) and OH&S (Occupational Health & Safety) systems.
• Experience in co-ordinating multiple commercial/industrial electrical/security/ELV/Fire contracting projects.
• Experience with SimPro, Pronto (accounting), and Conest (estimating) software is highly desirable.
• 2 to 5 years of experience would be sufficient, provided you have the right technical aptitude and drive.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and confident in building client relationships.
• Current Driver’s License and willingness to travel for site visits
