My client is market leading in design and manufacturing of custom special-purpose equipment solutions for customers worldwide.


THE ROLE

The Mechanical Field Service Technician is responsible for in-field installations, commissioning, fault finding, and repairs of complex special purpose equipment across heavy industry sectors. This role requires a high level of independence, clear and timely communication, and the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and performing operational maintenance of machines.
  • Overhauling and repairing mechanical parts, and fluid power equipment
  • Site installation and commissioning of complex plant & equipment
  • On-site customer support activities, including writing detailed service reports and ordering spare parts.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This is a full-time permanent position offering a highly competitive package that reflects the trade requirement.

You will receive an excellent hourly rate of approx $55 per hour for all local work. When working away from home, the hourly rate increases to $60 per hour and is supplemented by a Living Away From Home Allowance (LAFHA) of $100 per night. Overtime is paid at applicable penalty rates. The package also includes generous superannuation.


ABOUT YOU

As a successful candidate seeking a long-term role, you must possess the following core qualification and skills:


Essential Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV Engineering (Mechanical Trade/Fitter).


Required Skills & Attributes

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with proven experience in fitting fabricated metal parts, assembling metal parts, and subassemblies.
  • A strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits and components.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and clearly with clients.
  • Have a current driver's license and the ability to travel locally, interstate, and internationally when required.
  • Be physically fit for manual tasks (e.g., lifting, bending, twisting, exerting pressure).
