Join an Australian leader that has been providing specialised electrical engineering consultancy for nearly 20 years. Based in a flexible Brisbane head office, our client specialises in everything from operational technology and control system automation to medium voltage distribution and hazardous area classification.

They are a high performing team where technical mastery meets a casual, flat organisational structure. They are currently in growth mode and hunting for a Senior Power System Engineer to lead technical reporting and modelling, acting as a cornerstone for their dedicated Electrical department.

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Principal Power Electrical Engineer, you will own the full lifecycle of power system design and technical reporting for distribution and low voltage systems. You will be the technical architect ensuring efficient, high quality solutions for clients primarily within the water and mining sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conceptualise robust electrical solutions and perform complex power system modeling and calculations using industry standard tools.
• Provide coaching, training, and constructive feedback to Engineers and Grads to foster a high performing, cross skilled team.
• Manage 2–3 projects simultaneously, overseeing deliverables from preliminary site investigations through to project close out.
• Execute QA procedures and fulfil safety obligations under OHS/WHS policies to exceed client expectations.

ABOUT YOU

You are a Senior Electrical Engineer who lives for technical precision and power system modelling. You thrive in a collaborative, "self starter" environment where you are comfortable seeking out information and seeing projects through to completion. You are a leader ready to share your knowledge while remaining eager to learn and cross skill across disciplines.

Essential Skills:

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years experience as an Electrical Engineer, ideally within mining, water, or wastewater industries.
• Expert hands on experience with SKM PowerTools for Windows and PowerCad.
• Proven skill set in power system design, and detailed technical reporting.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple project deliverables weekly.

Desirable Skills:

RPEQ Registration

Exposure to Hazardous Area Classification or EIC/EEHA continued development.
