THE POSITION

We are seeking a professional, motivated, and reliable Experienced A Grade Electrician to step into a 2IC (Second in Command) position based in Melbourne. This permanent role operates on a highly desirable Monday to Friday day shift and is fully covered under the ETU EBA, offering premium industry rates, top tier allowances, and secure working conditions.

Initially, you will be heading straight onto a brand new, major greenfield site in North Melbourne until the end of the year. Following the completion of this build, you will seamlessly roll straight onto the next major project, ensuring long term project continuity.

Working closely with the supervisor, you will help run this flagship site, lead small teams, coordinate daily tasks, and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Act as 2IC on site, leading and supervising electrical works, including task allocation and labour coordination
• Help oversee a brand new greenfield installation from the ground up, ensuring works are delivered to project timelines
• Ensure strict compliance with all relevant OH&S legislation, site specific procedures, and safety policies
• Install, test, commission, and maintain electrical and electronic wiring, apparatus, and fixtures in accordance with current Australian Standards
• Provide on the job training, guidance, and mentoring to apprentices and trainees
• Monitor and manage consumables, materials, and tools on site
• Maintain accurate, organised records of works completed, defects, and service tasks
• Liaise professionally with clients, site supervisors, and internal management

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will be a trade qualified electrician with a strong leadership mindset, excellent communication skills, and the proactive drive needed to step up as a 2IC on a clean, fast paced greenfield site.

Key Licences, Skills & Experience:

• Unrestricted Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence
• Current OHS Induction Card / Construction Industry White Card
• Australian Permanent Residency
• Proven experience in commercial, retail and/or industrial electrical project environments
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and help run teams on site
• Strong knowledge of current electrical standards and regulatory requirements
• Experience in control wiring and/or commercial property infrastructure (highly regarded)
• Computer and mobile device literacy for site tracking and records
