The Position

Based in the Brisbane office and reporting directly to the General Manager, you will take ownership of the end to end estimation pipeline for diverse projects across the utilities, resources, mining, oil and gas, and heavy industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the identification of upcoming tenders, manage the estimation pipeline, and prepare comprehensive summaries for bid/no bid decisions and board reviews.
• Develop highly accurate and competitive project estimates by thoroughly evaluating tender documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Partner with engineering and project execution teams to craft innovative, client focused estimates and winning proposal strategies.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with operational teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure robust submissions and strong working relationships.
• Provide timely reports on estimating and bid risks, lead the estimate handover process to operations, and drive the continuous improvement of estimation methodologies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring at least 5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator, backed by a proven ability to manage tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Ideally, you will possess:

• Significant experience working with an electrical contractor within the heavy industrial sector (highly regarded).
• An electrical trade qualification, or a degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• A deep understanding of electrical systems, design, installation, project costing, and scheduling, alongside familiarity with relevant Australian codes and standards.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and industry standard electrical estimating software (e.g., WinEst, Espro, CostX).
• A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to high accuracy.
