TECHNICAL SALES ESTIMATOR – ELECTRONIC SECURITY | PERTH CBD Also known as: Estimating Lead, Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Senior Estimator – Electronic Security / ELV

THE COMPANY Our client is a national integrated security integrator with 100+ staff across Australia, delivering design, engineering, installation and maintenance of electronic security systems — access control, CCTV/VMS, intrusion detection, intercom and high-security environments — for government, defence, critical infrastructure, resources and commercial clients.

THE ROLE Perth CBD based, on-site. Leading the estimating function for tenders and major quotations on integrated electronic security projects, and acting as the technical pre-sales partner to the National Sales Manager.

• Own end-to-end estimates for tenders and major quotations, typically $100k–$10m+ project value (confirm actual range with client)
• Design and price the solution: head-end and field device selection, cable schedules, containment, labour allowances, subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Take-offs and BOMs from architectural, electrical and security drawings and specifications
• Value engineering and alternative-solution submissions to win competitive tenders
• Own commercial and risk positioning: margin, exclusions, qualifications, contract conditions
• Mentor and review the work of junior estimators

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE (non-negotiable)

• 5+ years estimating, pre-sales engineering or technical sales within the electronic security / ELV industry — security integrator, electrical contractor with a security division, or security product distributor. (Not physical/manned guarding, not building construction estimating, not IT/cyber security.)
• Hands-on platform knowledge across access control and VMS — e.g. Gallagher, Inner Range Integriti, Genetec, Lenel, C-CURE, Milestone, Avigilon, Axis, Bosch, Hanwha, Salto, Aiphone (edit to the client's actual stack)
• Demonstrated ownership of formal tender submissions and RFT/RFQ responses
• Estimating and take-off tooling — e.g. Trimble Accubid, Countfire, Groundplan, Buildsoft, simPRO or equivalent, plus advanced Excel
• Australian work rights and current WA driver's licence

STRONGLY PREFERRED

• Working knowledge of AS/NZS 2201, AS/NZS 3000, ASIAL requirements, and SCEC / Security Construction and Equipment Committee standards for high-security and government work
• Existing or eligible Australian Government security clearance (Baseline / NV1) or DISP-environment experience
• WA electrical or security licence, or a Cert IV / Diploma in Electrotechnology, Electronics or Security
• Experience with WA resources, defence, health, corrections or education sector security projects

LOCATION & CONDITIONS Perth CBD, on-site — this is not a remote or hybrid role. No interstate relocation support offered (confirm).

REMUNERATION $130,000 – $150,000 base + superannuation + car allowance.

Not a fit: manned guarding/patrols, alarm monitoring operators, general construction or QS estimators without electronic security, cyber-security or IT infrastructure specialists, installation technicians without estimating or pre-sales ownership.
