Our client is a leading national electrical engineering and manufacturing specialist delivering complex, packaged electrical solutions across major infrastructure and heavy industry sectors. Backed by a premier ASX listed parent group, their Project Solutions division excels in end to end design, manufacture, automation, and site delivery for major water, wastewater, resources, and industrial projects nationwide. Due to ongoing growth and a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team in Brisbane.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting directly to the National Estimating Manager, this permanent full time position offers the chance to lead critical tender submissions for high profile infrastructure projects. Initially focused on major water and industrial project solutions across Queensland and New South Wales, you will play a key role in expanding national capability across mining, minerals, and metals. Working collaboratively with in house engineering, manufacturing, and project execution teams, you will develop accurate, highly competitive bids that win work and drive business strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify upcoming tender opportunities, manage the pipeline alongside business development leaders, and prepare initial bid/no bid evaluation summaries.
• Review detailed drawings, specifications, and client requirements to build comprehensive, competitive project estimates for electrical, instrumentation, and automation packages.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to formulate win strategies, ensure compliant work method statements, and deliver high quality tender submissions.
• Liaise directly with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to maintain strong relationships, gather quotes, and clarify project scopes.
• Deliver smooth handovers of awarded tenders to Project Managers, ensuring clear alignment on scope, risk mitigations, schedules, and budget allocations.
• Track tender outcomes, refine historical estimating data, and contribute to the ongoing improvement of bidding processes.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator with a strong background working for an electrical contractor within heavy industrial, water/utilities, or resources sectors.
• An electrical trade qualification, or a degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (highly regarded).
• Hands on experience with specialized electrical estimating software (such as WinEst, Espro, CostX, or similar) alongside advanced MS Excel skills.
• Deep understanding of project costing, scheduling, risk assessment, and relevant Australian electrical standards and regulations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and the proven ability to manage multiple competing deadlines effectively.
