THE OPPORTUNITY

Due to continued organic expansion, an opportunity has opened for an Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to join the engineering team, ideally based on the Sunshine Coast (with flexibility for Brisbane).

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will take ownership of end to end electrical engineering scopes across mineral processing and mining infrastructure projects. With a strong focus on both detailed design and on site commissioning, you will deliver robust technical solutions while supporting and mentoring developing engineers across the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver end to end electrical engineering packages from preliminary studies and detailed design through to site commissioning.
• Develop single line diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, termination drawings, cable schedules, and equipment layouts for industrial and mineral processing plants.
• Perform key electrical engineering calculations including cable sizing, maximum demand, voltage drop, and fault level assessments.
• Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, and technical documentation for switchboards, motor control centres (MCCs), transformers, and variable speed drives (VFDs).
• Participate actively in site inspections, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site commissioning phases.
• Assist in coaching, mentoring, and guiding junior engineers and technical drafters to ensure high quality engineering deliverables.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with eligibility for Engineers Australia membership.
• Current RPEQ / CPEng status held, or an immediate pathway to achieving registration in the near term.
• Proven track record in electrical design and site commissioning, ideally within the mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian standards (including AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008, and relevant mine safety regulations).
• Practical, solution focused mindset with confidence in collaborating directly with clients, suppliers, and site teams.
• A collaborative team player keen to contribute to project delivery and technical mentorship.
